Miss Jamzon Guyana 2015......Best Evening Gown .......Best National Costume ......Best Smile ..... 1st Runner up


Twenty-four-year-old Cardella Hamilton who hails from the Ancient County of Berbice was on Sunday evening crowned Miss Jamzone Guyana 2015 at the Hits and Jams Water World, Providence, East Bank Demerara when the local leg of the pageant was held.
The announcement of the final results did not go down well with certain sections of the crowd that were rooting for the other delegates particularly, Treasure James who did not place.
There was a heated confrontation between the chief judge of the pageant, Gordon Mosley, and James and her entourage who accused the panel of judges of cheating, claiming that the winner of the pageant was known from the inception.
Nevertheless, the situation returned to normal since the judges’ decision was final. Coming in as first runner-up in the pageant was 23-year-old Radiante Frank, a decision which also did not go down well with the audience given that the delegate stumbled during the question-and-answer segment.
Hamilton, a University of Guyana student in the field of Public Management, carted off US$1000 and Frank took home US$500, along with other prizes including trips to Arrow Point Nature Resort.
The new queen will represent Guyana at the international pageant slated for August at the same venue where she will be competing with delegates from the Caribbean and North America for the title of Miss Jamzone Intentional.
Hamilton also copped the prizes for Body Beautiful as well as the People’s Choice Award, while Frank won the Best Country Dress, Best Evening Gown and Best Smile prizes. The Country Dress and Evening Gown were designed by Mwanza Glen. Read More At GuyanaTimesgy.com
